Other things on this server can make my site slow, and I have the timeout set aggressively.)
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment36 by Anon Ymous http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment35
Well it's not completely free of spittle "...as if he'd built something other than a huge pile of rotting compost." But the substance is actually substantive.. so it's not so... tedious to wade through.

He definitely rubbed people the wrong way.
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment35 by Jeremy Bowers http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment34
Excellent link. Substance without spittle. Hard to get on this topic!
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment34 by Anon Ymous http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment32
Digby has some relevant info

Digby's post on Rove

Basically he was as arrogant at members of congress as he appeared to be in public.

Likely was the same to some of the press.

Which is unlikely to start getting you fawning stories...
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment32 by Jeremy Bowers http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment31
OK, but how did he "epitomize" it? At least, if you've got any suggestions beyond Anon Ymous there.

I haven't got much opinion on the guy one way or another, it's just that the accusations levelled against him seem awfully vague. "He's arrogant and I don't like him" is certainly a valid belief, it just doesn't seem sufficient to engender the amount of hate, which seems beyond "he's arrogant and I don't like him" up into the "he ate my friend's baby" levels.

Maybe it is, though.
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment31 by rcade http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment30
Rove epitomizes the arrogance of a presidency that did not think it had to answer to anyone -- not citizens, not the world, and most of all not the half of the country that did not vote for Bush. As that math quote demonstrates, his hubris had no bounds.
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment30 by Anon Ymous http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment29
Reasonable reasons that I wish were the cause:
- politicization of all aspects of government
- Plame outing
- likely behind the prosecutor purge

More likely reason that are the real cause:
- acts rather arrogantly ("You may end up with a different math but you are entitled to your math and I'm entitled to THE math.")

Arrogance in public figure generally rubs people the wrong way.
http://www.jerf.org/iri/post/2816#comment29
