Let me explain that.

Civil Liberties and Security are inversely related; as one goes up, the other necessarily goes down.

Therefore, the best way to increase security is to decrease civil liberties.

This is undeniably incorrect.

I write this essay because this particular idiocy has risen to the level of "common sense"; if you don't accept it, you are, for lack of a better word, stupid. I'm sick of hearing it... especially as the opposite is essentially true. The statement is so wrong it's not even funny.
